Disciples making disciples in a day

I’m so blessed by God by your stories and emails, thank you.

Yesterday’s highlights:
• In the morning I gave out 250 simple gospels and fruit snacks downtown from 7:05 to 8:00 am
• I picked up my friend and we went to Hope Academy, where guys that used to pass out “the smoke” of deception are now passing out “the fire” of God. We recruited one guy to join us for passing out waters in the evening at Lake Calhoun.
• Me and my friend passed out 700 simple gospels in 1 hour 15 minutes outside of Target Downtown from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm. Everyone appreciated us, one commented “I like this, a lot!”. We only had about 12 people drop the card or throw it away in the garbage next to us.
• At 5:45 pm we picked up our new disciple a Hope Academy as a direct answer to prayer he brought 2 guys with him! At Lake Calhoun we were asked to leave the pavilion so we went to Thomas Beach. The guys passed out 3 cases of water in 30 minutes, that’s 210 people impacted with a simple message from God! I gave them another 4 cases and went to Lake Harriet with my Dad and Mentee. At Harriet we passed out 3 boxes of fruit snacks and 1 case of water. Folks really appreciated it!
• I’ll be posting pictures and good news on twitter.com\epgrace in near real time (as our brothers atgrace.com will monitor and censor as they are led by the Spirit).
• The BEST PART OF YESTERDAY: I received a call from one of the guys at 9:00pm (who came out with us last minute). “Hey Ben, is it alright if tomorrow we bring 5 more with us?” That is disciples, making disciples, making disciples, making disciples in 2 days! Bless the Lord oh my soul, oh my soul – worship His Holy Name! Sing like never before, oh my soul – I’ll worship Your Holy Name!

Every Sunday we have 2,000+ people missing from fellowship. We don't have an empty seat problem. We have a missing person’s problem.

I grew up in an upper class, missionary family. Literally everyone in my family was a missionary, except me. I was born again at an early age after hearing a preacher at church hold up an obituary and talk about the global pandemic that has plague the world since Genesis Chapter 3, death. He said God promised back then to make it right and followed through on that promise with Jesus Christ. So I believed and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior with my mom on the steps at our home.

From High School to my late twenties I was missing from fellowship and was getting beaten down. I was a praying Christian but almost all alone, I had no Christian friends and my life didn't look different from the world.

It wasn't until a work acquaintance asked me about Jesus did I ever have a chance to talk about my faith. He asked me to church and I said "No, thanks". He and I became friends and I later invited him to church (since he was the only guy I knew who did that). I found the music was enjoyable, the people were friendly and God spoke to my heart. I was home and now I want my friends to experience that same feeling of being welcome home.

Simple gospels:

Once you have signed up, you may pick which simple gospels you like (if still available). They are packaged in groups of 80 or 35. These will be available to pick up at Grace Church M345 (balcony level) on Sunday July 13 & 20 from 8:55-noon. Or Wednesday July 16 from 6:00-9:00pm.

Temporary nourishment:

These will be available to pick up at Grace Church M345 (balcony level) on Sunday July 20 from 8:55-noon or Wednesday July 16 from 6:00-9:00pm.

Who can serve?

Anyone in good physical health who can hold a box of snacks in one hand and offer a snack and card with other. Must be able to smile, make eye contact and say, “would you like a free snack?”

During the Big Serve week

Prayer the most important preparation

Your personal heart condition with God is the most important preparation you can make, please pray to Him. Confess your sin, trust him to give forgive & give you righteousness, strength, courage and perseverance. He has already given you everything you need so walk in faith wearing the “shoes of the gospel”. Pray for all of us as well.

Transportation

You will provide your own transportation.

Running out of supplies

You will likely run out of supplies very early. Praise God.

What if it’s raining?

Go were the people go when it rains. (Skyways, malls…)

Or do it on another day that’s not raining.

What if I can’t make it?

You can still do the task on any other day. The structure is to be helpful & impactful. You can be impactful during anytime – just do it!

What if I wanted to do this at my school or other place?

Go for it with my blessing. Go where God is leading you – this technique is yours now!

What if I wanted to create my own Twitter card?

Go for it, information is on the card, but please keep it Biblically sound. I’ll be happy to help you.
